What customers say?

“ Despite coming in late and being the last customer for the night we still got A grade service. It's small but intimate, the atmosphere is relaxing and both staff are a vibe. The care and time the chef puts in her dishes is second to none. We had the duck and pork. The duck just melts in your mouth with every element well placed and cooked perfectly. The pork was cooked perfectly with the fat to meat ratio on point. The dessert had a great balance of bitter to sweet with fresh produce. Thank you for the good vibes, amazing food and conversation. Love this place. ”

“ My husband and I stopped in to this restaurant on a rainy night and couldn't have found a nicer respite if we'd tried! The chef was so kind and welcoming; the interior was beautiful; and the food was out of this world. The mackerel dish in particular was a highlight, as was the conger eel, and how to even express how delicious the cannelle was! Hope to return to this place on our next visit to Kyoto. Absolutely 10/10! Edited to add: I returned! Stopped in again this June with some family; it was every bit as delicious as I'd remembered, if not more so. How comforting to be welcomed in on a rainy night, and what a pleasure to taste the chef's bouillabaisse, which we'd missed on our last visit. 10/10 again, and still highly recommend the cannelle! ”

“ This place is amazing!!! We travelled from Aus and have been to here twice, we loved the food and the atmosphere. The food is cooked right in front of you in a cosy home feel. The host is super talented and 6 course meal we had was delicious. We pre booked for a set course but you may get lucky with a walk in. Highly recommended, hope to be back for a third time. ”

“ Amazing place, food was awesome and delicious. We went there on our first evening in Kyoto and immediately booked for the next day at the end of the dinner. Each plate was delicious, special mention to the smoked duck and the pink grapefruit French Sour. Will definitely come back if I have the chance. Thanks a lot to the chef and her colleague! ”

“ My wife and I went here this evening to celebrate her birthday. Actually, we had plans to go somewhere else, but couldn’t get a reservation and ended up wandering around the neighborhood. We came to Petit Poisson without knowing anything about it, but I am so glad we went here. This was the most delicious French food I have ever had in my life. The staff were very courteous and friendly. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great dining experience! ”
